Download Data Files
This article explains how to download a file, what you need first, the limits that apply, and what to do if a download doesn't work.
Note: Files are private to you. No one else accessing your environment can see or open a file you created, whatever permissions they hold.
Before you start
To download files from Fast Track AI, you need:
- Fast Track AI > View permission. If you can open Fast Track AI, you already have it.
- View Sensitive Information permission. You'll find it in your role settings, under Player Management. Fast Track AI checks this permission when it creates the file and again when you download it.
- An authenticator app set up on your account. This is the same app you use to sign in. Every download asks for a 6-digit code from it.
Note: If your role doesn't have View Sensitive Information, Fast Track AI won't create a file. It shows the rows in the chat instead, without a message saying a permission is missing. If this happens, ask your administrator to check your permissions before you report a problem.
Download a file
- Open Fast Track AI and ask for the data you need. For example: Export last month's deposits per player as a CSV.
- Wait a few seconds while Fast Track AI runs the query and prepares the file.
- When the file card appears in the conversation, check the file name and size.
- Select Download.
- Enter the 6-digit code from your authenticator app.
The file saves to your computer. The card stays in the conversation, so you can scroll back and download the file again until it expires.
Verification code
You're asked for a code every time you download a file, with no grace period. Because files can contain player data, the code confirms that the person downloading the file is the person who requested it.
- Use the same code you use to sign in.
- If you don't have an authenticator app set up, the download is refused. Sign out and sign in again to set one up.
- After 5 incorrect codes, downloads are blocked for 15 minutes. The only way to clear the block is to wait. Entering a correct code in between doesn't reset the count.
Limits
Limit | Value |
File availability | 14 days |
Maximum file size | 50 MB |
New files per user | 50 per day |
Downloads per user | 20 per hour |
Incorrect codes before lockout | 5, then a 15-minute wait |
After 14 days, the file is permanently deleted. To get the data again, ask Fast Track AI and it will create a new file.
What's not supported
- Email delivery: Fast Track AI can't email a file or attach one to an email. If you ask for an export by email, you'll get the figures in the email body and the file stays in the conversation.
- Scheduled reports: Scheduled reports don't produce files. They send their figures in the email body.
- Sharing in the product: You can't give a colleague access to your file in Fast Track AI. To share it, download it and send it yourself.
- File list: There's no page that lists all your files. You can only open a file from the conversation where you requested it.
Troubleshooting
Issue | Cause | Solution |
No file card appears and the rows show in the chat | Your role may not have View Sensitive Information, or the result was short enough to show in the chat | Ask your administrator to check your permissions |
After entering your code, you're told the file can't be found | The file belongs to someone else or no longer exists | Ask Fast Track AI for the data again |
You're told the file has expired | The file is more than 14 days old | Ask Fast Track AI for the data again |
You're told there have been too many attempts | You've reached an hourly limit, or you're in the 15-minute lockout after 5 incorrect codes | Wait, then try again |
You're told your identity couldn't be verified | Your account doesn't have an authenticator app set up | Sign out and sign in again to set one up |
The file didn't save to your computer | Your browser blocked the download | |
